In the midst of the Corona epidemic, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister to discuss how to conduct examinations for Std. 12 students this year. In this meeting, it has been decided to conduct this year's annual examinations of standard 12 science and general stream conducted by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board on July 1 in a regular manner.

While repeater students of Std. 10 will also be examined. An important decision has been taken to conduct Std-12 board examinations with strict adherence to Corona's SOP in the specific situation of Corona transition prevailing in the state.

No decision regarding refund of examination fee of Std. 10 students

While Education Minister Bhupendrasinh clarified that no decision has been taken in this regard to refund the examination fees to the standard 10 students. The decision will be taken in a meeting with the administrators and guardians in the near future.

Giving details in this regard, Minister of Education Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Minister of State for Education Vibhavari Dave said that a total of 6.83 lakh students from Std-12 Science stream and 5.43 students from General stream are to appear in this examination.

There will be a 3 hour exam of science stream

He said that the Chief Minister had instructed the Education Department at this meeting to conduct the board examinations of Std-12, which are important for shaping the future careers of the students of the state, with strict adherence to the Kovid-19 protocol in these special circumstances of Koro transition. The Education Minister further said that this examination will be conducted every year according to the established system of Science Stream Part-1 with 50 marks Multiple Choice Type (MCQ) OMR method and Part-2 Descriptive Written 50 Marks Examination for 3 hours.

Corona's guidelines will be strictly followed in the exam

Similarly, according to the established system every year in Std-12 general stream, a 3-hour examination in descriptive written form of 100 marks will be conducted. The education department will also ensure that students sitting for the exams maintain social distance, use masks compulsorily and also adhere to the transition control guidelines of cores including sanitizer, thermalgun at the examination centers, Chudasama added.


An examination center will be provided to the student near theeEducation Minister also said that Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had made a persuasive suggestion at the meeting that the entire examination system should be set up with the concern that the transition of corona would not spread among the students as well as their future would not be ruined. Accordingly, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has also taken a student-friendly decision to increase the number of examination centers for the purpose of providing examination centers close to his school during this difficult time in Corona. For this purpose, the number of examination centers in the state will be increased this year. In which talukas sufficient number of students will be available and if there is no examination center in such taluka then examination center will be started there.

Re-examination for absent students

Arrangements will be made for a maximum of 20 students to sit in each examination room for both science stream and general stream examinations. Not only that, the examination centers have been provided with CCTV. Will be equipped with a camera. In this high level meeting, keeping in view the future of the students, it has been decided that the students who have been absent due to corona transition or absent due to corona related or other unavoidable reasons during the examination, the original examination i.e. starting from 1/7/2021After 25 days of the examination, all the subjects will be re-examined based on the new timetable and new question paper.

Repeater students of Std. 10 will also be examined

The Education Minister further added that the examination for repeater students of Std-10 will also be conducted in the same manner. The high-level meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary K. Kailasanathan, Education Front Secretary Anju Sharma, Chief Minister's Secretary Ashwini Kumar, Education Secretary Vinod Rao, Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Chairman A. J. Shah was also present
